The uncontrolled growth of cancer cells in the breast tissue is known as Breast cancer. This cancer is one of the most common cancers in women and breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women. Men can also develop breast cancer but it is less in percentage as compared to women’s. Cancer occurs due to genetic mutations and this makes abnormal growth of cells in the tissues of the body. Cancer is mostly growing like a tumor in tissues and may also spread to other body parts.
1. Noninvasive breast cancers: Noninvasive breast cancers are the primary site of development and these can be treated and they may also have to become an invasive breast tumor. Noninvasive breast is two types: one is ductal carcinoma in situ, these are abnormal cells in the milk duct and the second type is lobular carcinoma in situ, these are abnormal cells in the lobules.
2. Invasive breast cancer: This type of breast cancer is spread into the nearby breast tissues. The two types of invasive breast cancer are
Invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC): Invasive ductal carcinoma starts in the milk ducts of the body and accounts for 80% of invasive breast cancers.
Invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC): ILC mostly starts in the lobular of the body and accounts for 10% of invasive breast cancers.
3. Inflammatory breast cancer: It is a type of breast cancer with inflammatory symptoms such as redness and swelling caused by cancer cells in the lymph nodes.
4. Breast angiosarcoma: This type of cancer starts in the cells which line the blood and blood vessels in the breast of the body.
5. Paget’s disease: This cancer starts in the ducts and spreads to other body parts like nipples and areola and looks like dark skin around the nipple.
6. Phyllodes tumor: This phyllodes tumor develops in the connective tissue in the breast. More than 75% of phyllodes tumors are benign.
These are the most common types of breast cancer in women .which mostly affect women and some subtypes of invasive ductal carcinoma are tubular carcinoma, mucinous carcinoma, medullary carcinoma, and low-grade adenosquamous carcinoma. These are more aggressive and have fewer chances of spreading. Some subtypes of invasive ductal carcinoma are met aplastic carcinoma, micro papillary carcinoma, and mixed carcinoma. This is very aggressive and spreads faster in women’s bodies.
The Most Common First Place To Spread Breast Cancer
Breast cancer spreads to other parts of the body in the advanced stage. The most possible first common spread area is lymph nodes. These are located under the arms inside your breast and it is near to your collarbone. It spreads like most glands and starts to spread to other parts of the body and this is metastatic. During your cancer treatment, your doctor will check first whether your lymph nodes near the tumors are affected or not. If it spreads to lymph nodes that make it more dangerous and cancer becomes the more advanced stage. So, before itself take information from breast cancer awareness from doctors. Lymph nodes help to drain bacteria from the body near the breast.it also helps to purify the other harmful things from the body. Sometimes you cannot notice cancer spreading to the nodes of the body. So, during breast cancer treatment ask about the risk factors caused by treatment of breast cancer and prevent yourself.
Breast cancer also spreads to other body parts such as bones, liver, lungs, and brain. If breast cancer spreads to the bone that is called bone cancer and it causes more pain and makes a person weak. Bone cancer is seen in the arms, legs, and spine and affects the spinal cord. If breast cancer spreads to the liver it is called liver cancer.it causes more pain in your belly that leads to loss of appetite and loss of weight. If breast cancer spreads to the lungs it is called lung cancer. It causes shortness of breath, a cough that won’t go away, and loss of weight. If breast cancer spreads to the brain it is known as brain cancer. It causes more headaches and could feel confused or have seizures. The common treatments of breast cancer are chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery. If your breast cancer is in the HER2 stage that time your doctor referred you to targeted therapy.
