Imagine chemotherapy as a demolition crew working in a design where destructive pests have dominated. Imagine your body as the building, with healthy cells addressing its strong structure and cancer cells as the pests causing harm.

Presently, when pests pervade a building, they can debilitate its structure and pose a danger to its trustworthiness. In this situation, the building chief (your immune system) attempts to dispose of the pests, yet once in a while they multiply excessively fast or stow away in hard-to-reach places.

This is where chemotherapy comes in. It's like bringing in a skilled demolition crew armed with powerful tools to demolish the infested areas of the building, including those hiding spots where the pests are lurking. The crew carefully demolishes the affected areas, removing the pests along with them.

However, very much like with any demolition work, there can be some unforeseen consequences. A few structural elements may sustain minor damage, and residue and garbage may be scattered about. Essentially, chemotherapy can influence a few healthy cells in the body, prompting side effects like fatigue, nausea, or hair loss.

However, just as the demolition crew goes to great lengths to limit damage and ensure safety, doctors work to treat chemotherapy symptoms while also supporting the body's recovery throughout the treatment cycle. A definitive goal is to eliminate the horrendous cancer cells and restore the body to health, similar to redesigning and rebuilding a damaged building.
